LIBRARY RESOURCES

The mission of the Donna Franca Franzaroli Library and Resource Center is to serve as a welcoming space where students, ranging from 15 months to grade 8, have access to a rich and diverse collection of literacy resources. The library staff endeavors to foster an environment in which students, faculty, and families are:

  • Inspired to learn, question, and explore;

  • Empowered to find materials independently and to ask for guidance should they need it;

  • Challenged to explore a diversity of voices, identities, and perspectives.

The library staff selects materials for the library that are:

  • Appropriate for all reading levels, from 15 months through 8th grade

  • Relevant to the curriculum

  • Current and accurate

  • Representative of diverse backgrounds and perspectives

  • Engaging and of high interest to students

  • Recommended or requested by students, faculty, and families

Wellan’s library offers a broad and inclusive collection, providing a wide range of fiction, non-fiction, reference materials, and other learning resources to students and staff.  As a member of the Massachusetts Library System (MLS), the library is also granted direct access to digital resources such as research databases and e-book collections.
